I read a great quote once:
”You can’t start a new chapter if you keep rereading the last one.”
I’ve been doing a lot of yoga lately, and it’s helping me with anxiety. My summer break is ending, and soon I’m going to do a lot of new things – and some of them scare me. I’m going to a new school, I’m meeting new people. I want to start writing more, on here but also on other platforms. I want to run a half marathon. I want to move to the city. And so much more.
New chapters are exciting, but they also make me anxious. I’ve been dealing with anxiety for a long time and I’m proud to day that in the last five years, it has only gotten better. At least new things make me excited now, instead of wanting to hide under my bed and pretend that the outside world does not exist.
I don’t do any fancy yoga, just on a cheap mat in my bedroom. I turn on a YouTube video (I love Yoga With Andriene) and focus on my breathing. It’s helping me so much to just chill for a little, and I’ve been starting to implement some of the breathing techniques in my day to day life.
I never thought that something simple as taking 10 minutes every day to practice my breathing and be mindful could help me in so many more area’s of my life, but I’m loving it so far.

Been there- with the ‘Anxiety and wanting to hide under my bed and pretend that the outside world does not exist’.
Yoga, Meditation and Reiki- DONE THAT! 😀 It’s truly amazing what couple of minutes taking care of yourself can do. 🙂
I’m sooo glad yoga does you well! 🙂 Stay positive! ^_^

I’m happy to hear that! More people should try it honestly. 🙂

I am getting back into yoga now after an injury, and Yoga With Adrienne is definitely at the top of my list! While I find that I don’t necessarily walk away feeling that I am physically SPENT, I definitely feel mentally balanced, and that is just as important! Wonderful post!

Thanks for stopping by! I don’t feel ‘physically spent’ doing yoga either, but I run, so I still get the heavy workout in! But you’re right that low-impact workouts are just as important. 🙂

Superb website you have here but I was wanting to know if you knew of any message boards that cover the same topics talked about here? I’d really love to be a part of online community where I can get advice from other knowledgeable people that share the same interest. If you have any recommendations, please let me know. Bless you!
